Symposium Guidelines

Session Length: 90 minutes

A symposium presentation consists of either 3 or 4 related presentations on a specific theme, issue, or question relating to the conference focus. At least one of the papers must be a Global South contribution. Each paper must be summarized in a 200 word abstract (introduction/method/findings/implications). The chair submits a symposium title (20 words) and a summary abstract (50 words). All presenters must register for the conference if the symposium is accepted. We suggest that the chair gather all the required information from co-presenters in advance and act as coordinator for the submission. The symposium title and summary abstract must be submitted separately for each symposium paper.
If your symposium will be consisting of 3 related presentations you will be given time for a discussion period. If you opt for a discussion period you must find someone else to facilitate the discussion. This person cannot be involved in any of the presentations. The chair person is allowed to be the facilitator if, and only if, they are involved in none of the presentations.
If your symposium will be consisting of 4 related presentations there will be no discussion period. The chair person for the symposium presentation is allowed to be part of only one of the presentations.
